Solar Eclipse Getaway

Location Peacham, VT
- ID: 1836
Description
Available April 6-9 -- We live in a historic farmhouse on the edge of Peacham, in Caledonia County (VT) within 10 miles of US Routes 2 and 302 (E-W) and both US-5 and I-91 (N-S). Eclipse totality will visit us for about 2 ½ minutes in mid-afternoon on April 8. There are many great viewing points within an hour’s drive to our north and east, if you’ll want to explore and seek totality of 3 minutes (about the maximum.)
We offer accommodations for 4-6 active adults; you’ll have our entire second floor: two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, and one with a double bed. Your party will share a bathroom just across the hall, with shower/bath. (Another toilet/shower are downstairs, where we stay.) We heat with wood stoves and a heat pump, and have a cat. Old house stairway means our house is not suitable for very young or old visitors, if mobility is a question. You’ll be able to share our front sitting room, living room and fireplace with us. We’ll provide hot drinks and muffins in the morning. We can talk about any meals you may want, or food you’d like to bring with you. You’ll be in walking distance of the Town offices, post office, Village church, library and café. We have a screened porch and large yard with a view, which you’ll be welcome to enjoy, weather permitting.
Early April can bring snow storms or rain in this part of the world; mud is almost a certainty. Please pack a range of outdoor gear and footwear.
Pricing
Your accommodations include arrival any time after noon on April 6, for one, two or three nights (April 6, 7 and 8), and departure by noon on April 9.
