Beautifully Appointed Lake Side Camp with Spectacular Views
-
Location Vergennes, VT
- ID: 1316
Description
Imagine waking to the sound of waves, so close you can almost touch them! This beautifully appointed and carefully furnished camp is perfect for your vacation. You will immediately notice how special it is when you look at the herbs and vegetables growing in front of the house and the native plants that decorate the property.
On the ground floor are the fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher; family room with stone fireplace, large sofa (that can be pulled out to make a king bed) and reading chairs; main bedroom with king bed; TV room with satellite television, wi-fi connection and loveseat (that can be pulled out to make a twin bed); a full bath with shower and tub, and a utility room with full-size washer and dryer. Although not ADA-compliant, there are only two small steps (with grab bars) to the entrance, we have installed grab bars in the tub, and the first floor permits access to all main rooms including the deck. Also, a raised toilet seat and shower chair can be provided upon request.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms and another full bath (shower only). One bedroom has a king bed; the second room has two twin beds. All three bedrooms have full or partial lake views. Towels and linens are provided.
Downstairs, open the sliding doors and walk out to the deck or walk down to your own shale beach and dock. Parents will especially appreciate the sand that we have spread to make part of the beach suitable for small children's play. Both an electric grill and a Weber kettle grill, movable fire pit and picnic table are provided. There is a mooring for small boats.
The camp is about a mile from the Basin Harbor Club with its golf course, marina and restaurant. It is a short drive to Vergennes, a quaint town with restaurants, antique and clothing stores and a weekly farmer's market. A bit further are Middlebury and Burlington with their many restaurants and cultural offerings. Historical sites, parks and hiking trails abound, and bicycling is a favorite pastime. There are nearby locations for renting kayaks and canoes.
We strive to be environmentally conscious. Our heating and air conditioning are powered by heat pumps, we are furthering our use of eco-friendly cleaning products, and we have installed a charger for electric powered vehicles.
Please note that campers would be too large for our parking area which can accommodate three cars.
Pricing
Rates are dependent on length of stay and season. High season rates apply to stays between July 1 and Labor Day. Much reduced rates apply as Vermont begins to bloom in April, May, and June, and during our famous leaf-peeping season in September and October. Consider taking in Vermont's breathtaking views during spring or fall. We offer substantial discounts for stays of two weeks or more during any season.
Pets are welcome at our discretion for an additional cleaning fee.
We do not charge less than the weekly rate during the high season even if your stay is less than a week. Weeks during high season run from Saturday afternoon to the following Saturday morning. There is much more flexibility for shorter stays in April, May, June, September and October.
We have occasional cancellations that may not show on the calendar, so please check back in case your preferred dates become available.
We hope you choose to vacation at this special property.
Thank you.
